Tuition, Fees, and Matriculation
There is a $100 non-refundable application fee due upon submission of the application for enrollment. This fee covers administrative costs and the cost of a background check for each student.
The tuition for each Phase I and Phase II course is $287. Candidates are expected to pay for each course at the time of registration. Visa and MasterCard accepted.
Clinical Supervisors are to be paid $50 per hour and every candidate must complete six (6) hours of supervision/mentoring. Life Coaching Mentoring is $85 per hour.
Each Arno Profile is completed at a cost to the student of $40. After the completion of Phase I student may charge clients for the profile.
For the Degree Programs the following matriculation fees apply.
Bachelor of Arts Christian Counseling $1200

Matriculation fees are paid to BETA College Fund but go directly to the school of choice. A list of partnering institutions is available upon request.
Upon completion of Phase II in any program there is a $100 licensing fee payable to the NCCA. This fee is required along with the Notification and Release Form for Personal National Screening.
Course Exemption
Upon written request, exemption from one or more of the standard courses may be awarded. Consideration is based on the individual’s academic history as evidenced by documentation (resume and transcripts) submitted to BETA’s Evaluation Committee PRIOR to enrollment.
BETA Cost Worksheet
This is an example of a typical BETA program. Actual costs may vary according to program chosen and level of certification sought. BETA requires a $100 non-refundable enrollment fee with must accompany the completed enrollment packet. Tuition is $287 per course and is due 15 days before the semester begins. Tuition for all advanced courses is $250 per class. Tuition may be paid by credit card or check. There is a $20 fee for all returned checks.
In addition to tuition, the candidate will be assigned to a clinical supervisor for a total of six hours. The fee for clinical supervision is $50 per hour. The candidate will be required to complete a total of 25 Arno Temperament Profiles at a cost of $40 each. After year one, the student may charge for administering the profiles to clients as a means of reimbursement. (Branches Recovery Center charges $40 per profile.)
- Final graduation will require membership in the NCCA. Membership application fee is $100. (Annual membership dues for NCCA is currently $50.)
- Licensure will require commission by the National Conservative Christian Church, unless done through a local congregation. Membership in the NCCC is $100 and $75 per year annual dues.

Course Descriptions
SEMESTER 1
CO 101 Creation Theory Instructor: Dr. Laura Hart, Ph.D.
Creation Theory is the core course of the BETA Certification program. The candidate will be provided an in-depth understanding of the theory of temperament and acquire knowledge of the scientific and biblical basis for Christian counseling. The course introduces the five temperaments and helps the student develop confidence in using the Arno profile system as a diagnostic tool.
Course Style: 2-3 weekend intensives.
Additional Requirements: Student is required to complete an Arno Personal Profile.

CO 103 Basic Christian Counseling Dr. R. G. Arno
Basic Counseling is presented on DVD by the founder of NCCA, Dr. Richard Arno. The student is given an overview of the “big eight” therapeutic methods and counseling styles. Dr. Arno also discusses Christian counseling goals and techniques, and other topics such as the dangers and pitfalls of counseling.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 6 hours.)
Additional Requirements: Pass a proctored closed book exam.
SEMESTER 2
CO 202 The Christian Counseling Model Instructor: C. Michael Courtney, M.A.
The student will receive specific information regarding stress, anger, and guilt with an emphasis on developing family relationships. Classes are interactive as students begin to practice using temperament therapy and the Arno Profile System as well as monitor actual counseling sessions.
Course Style: 1 weekend intensive.

CO102 Christian Psychology and Counseling Instructor: Dr. Laura Hart, Ph.D.
The course is centered on a 300 page textbook. The candidate will receive general information regarding basic theories of historical systems of psychology, counseling, and biblical theories, as well as a deeper understanding of the temperament model of Christian counseling.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 40 hours)
Additional Requirements: Pass a proctored closed book exam.
SEMESTER 3
CO 204 Mastering Pastoral Counseling Mike Courtney, MA
The candidate will receive specific information regarding stress, anger, guilt, and addiction with the emphasis on the importance of family relationships. The class will examine the use of the APS as a diagnostic and treatment tool.
Course Style: 2 weekend seminars
Additional Requirements: Pass a proctored closed book exam.

PR 203 Case Studies Dr. Phyllis. Arno
This course is first hand competency in writing case studies based on the Arno Profile System. A thesis based on 25 completed profiles is necessary for graduation. This course is the wrap-up of that assignment an gives the student final instruction and affirmation on preparing the thesis.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 30-35 hours.)
Additional Requirements: Complete and present the 25 total required Arno Profiles.
SEMESTER 4
PR 201 ASSIST Instructor: Dr. Ron Hamm, Ph.D.
ASSIST is a certificate awarded course that equips the student to assess the danger of, and offer intervention for, suicide prone clients. Designed as a stand alone unit, many practicing therapists have taken this course for CE credit and to improve effectiveness.
Course Style: 1 weekend intensive. (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
CO 203 Counseling the Codependent Dr. Jean M. LaCour
A text and accompanying workbook covers the issues of codependency. Student receives a deeper awareness of the safety concerns for counseling the codependent and work at putting practices in place to insure quality care with boundaries.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 30 hours.)

SUMMER SEMESTER
PR 202 Counseling Practicum Instructor: Tracey Robison, M.A.
By this time the student is full on in the intern mode. Taught by the Director of Counseling for Branches Recovery Center, the course will involve the student in hands on counseling experiences including monitoring actual counseling session, doing in-class role playing, and utilizing the Arno Profile System.
Course Style: 2 weekend intensives.

CO 201 Quality, Ethics, and Legal Issues in Christian Counseling Dr. Phyllis Arno
The student is led through a crucial discussion and understanding of the various ethical and legal issues surrounding Christian counseling. Developed to introduce the novice counselor to the impact of counseling, this course gives a solid base for integrity and competence in ministry and practice.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 10-15 hours.)

TH 101 Ministry Course Dr. Don Struble
A recognized credential for ministry is required for Certified Pastoral Counselor or Licensed Pastoral Counselor designations. This course is designed for the student who does not hold that credential. Credential or ordained ministers may opt out of this course or replace it with an advanced course.
Course Style: Directed Study (suggested 10-15 hours.)

LC 301 Basic Life Coaching Training Mike Courtney, MA
This six session interactive coaching class is available online. Students will learn the terms, techniques and tools of Life Coaching. They will understand how to apply Life Coaching principles to their own life and to build a coaching practice.
